On November 19, 1997, in Ft. Lauderdale Florida, a day that will always be remembered, the birth of Terry Montell Durham, and his Twin Brother, Todd Mantell Durham Jr. Their parents, Nicole and Todd, knew that this birth was a sign from God, He gave them two sons. What they did not know at the time was that Terry would become an inspiration to thousands with his ministry.
Terry Durham grew up in Lauderdale Lakes Florida. Living with his grandmother and father, he was not your typical 9 year old kid. He had a habit as a child, preaching to an imaginary congregation and always carrying his little microphone radio every where he would go. Him and his twin brother would have church every where they went, earning him the nickname "Preacher Man".
Pastor Sharon Monroe (grand mother) instilled a strong work of leadership in her grandson at an early age. His grandmother was a traveling evangelist, who traveled around the state ministering the word of God. She started to watch Terry at a very young age. He started ministering the word of God at the age of 2 years old. He's the world's youngest license and Ordained Minister. He laughs; he plays but appears to be a bit shy when you talk to him.
In 2003, Terry was licensed and Ordained for ministry at True Gospel Deliverance in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. This congregation was birth by Pastor Monroe. Walking in the foot steps of Martin Luther King Jr. and Al Sharpton, Terry preached his first sermon at the age of 4. Sharon Monroe and a council of Ministers witnessed his preaching; there the "Little Man of God was born.
Terry was born premature he and his one minute younger twin brother, weighing only two pounds at birth, Terry was plague with the illness Asthma, also under going two blood transfusions. Todd Jr. the youngest brother was well enough to go home early from the hospital. Terry stayed longer fighting for his life, his health was so Fragile that he was sent home on a heart monitor, under the instructions that, "If the monitor goes off Terry is dead", said the Doctor. But he being the hero that he is, fought through it all. Still at the age of two years old, he under went another surgery for a hernia. Through excessive prayer and believing in God Terry pulled through.
Minister Terry Durham, is also known as the Little Man of God; He travels around the country Preaching and proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ. Terry has made many national appearances through his ministry. • Head lined in 200 different News papers in 400 cities. • Recently in 2006 he appeared on the Today Show in New York. • CNN, and Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN). • He was also featured it Jet magazine (July 3, 2006 issue), the National Enquire and the front cover of Beverly Thomas Success Magazine. • Terry Durham owned the front page of the Miami Harold Christmas day 2006. He donated 2000 toys to twenty different families, God's way of giving back to the people who he loves! Terry Durham is also involved with accompanying the elderly at retirement homes. He plays football for the local park in the community. He was awarded the offensive player of the year. Minister Terry Durham is currently being taught on a theological aspect of the bible. He takes collage courses online, increasing his knowledge of the bible.
Things were moving quickly for the little man of god; he was called by the NAACP to be the Key Note speaker for the 2007 Martin Luther King Junior Celebration. Recently in May 2007 Terry appeared on the TLC channel for a one hour special about his life. He also has host many youth conferences for Bishop Noel Jones, Pastor Hezekiah Walker, The late G. E. Patterson, and many more big names in gospel.
He featured in the New York Times, ABC Night Line; he has 3 documentaries featuring in the UK. Since the lunching of his ministry Hes traveled to 39 states and 9 countries. God gives us all gifts and a purpose. Terry has found his gift and purpose at the tender age of 9 years old. Terry Durham made a vow to the Lord God that he would minister his word. He says that he is blessed, and is a solder for the army of God. He was born special, heaven sent, he love God and loves church.
