I think that building was completed in 1956, and is on the CA register of historic landmarks. I also read where it was made round to resemble records stacked on a turntable. I guess the spire on the top is supposed to resemble the turntable spindle, although it is off-center.

What style of inside door is that? Most were usually a folding gate type. That kind seems to be a solid grille type that folds around the outside of the car. Anyway, that is a cool old elevator!

Do you know what the names of those pipes were on that organ? One sounds like an ordinary flute, but the reed sounds very unique.

Are those blowers made by the Spencer Co.?

Was that filmed at the University of Memphis? If so, what building was it in? It was Memphis State University when I went there at the Herff College of Engineering.

At 0:40, I always wondered how they made that sound effect in the song. Along with the Beach Boys, J & D, and various others, the Ventures are the great masters of the "surfing" sound of the 1960s.

How old is this video? It looks it came from a 16mm film. It is interesting to see how NORAD operated before they built the Cheyenne Mtn. Complex. At 6:30, isn't that an old hospital building built around 1924 that they were using for the command center at the time?

That's some really cool footage of those old computers at around 1:00 and afterwards. Back then, that was considered state of the art. It's really interesting, also, to see what NORAD was like before they built the Cheyenne Mtn. Complex in the 1960s.

I think those kind of elevators with glass in the actual doors is really cool! Lets you see all the floors go by, and when you are on the floor, you can look into the shaft and see the inner workings.

That hymn tune is actually the same as the alma mater song of the University of Memphis (formerly Memphis State University). It was adopted as its alma mater song in the 1920s and re-worded. It's actually an old British hymn, originally, if I'm not mistakin'. Thanks for posting the video of it...

Looks like you are building a theatre pipe organ in the background. I can see the swell shades and an unenclosed rank of pipes. Is it a Wurlitzer?
