About this user

TVM is currently the only (terrestrial ) local television broadcaster in the Maldives.
We are a state broadcaster, with a view of soon becoming a public service broadcaster. We celebrated our 31st Anniversary on March 29, 2009.
Nearly 98 percent of the country has access to TVM and we hope to expand our reach by 2011.
Our Vision, Mission and Objectives
Vision:
To be the national broadcast leader committed to enrich the lives of the Maldivian people.

Mission:
To provide the public with news and programs which seek to inform, educate and entertain
To constantly advance our service through professional excellence, innovation and user friendly services that will enhance and enrich the viewer experience
To set the highest ethical standards in broadcasting

Objectives:
Project a balanced view of the Maldivian people by representing the distinctive cultures of all regions
Promote public participation in broadcasting and provide a forum for the convergence of diverse views
Raise public awareness and understanding of the democratic principles of human dignity and equality through fair gender representation, respect for human rights, children's rights, and the rights of persons with disabilities.
Encourage the growth of an institutionally developed society by raising public awareness on the principles of democracy and the process of reforms.
Bridge the geographical divide, eliminate bias and encourage social harmony.
