It doesn't matter what I could do at his age. If you post your video to Youtube, you should expect some critique of your ability, especially when you advertise that you're "on tour". If you can't handle constructive criticism, don't post stuff to Youtube.

It's really pretty simple. Just practice 3-4 per day, have an incredible desire to be the best and get around musicians that are better than you. Questions? See: David Grier, Brian Setzer, Tommy Emmanuel, Leo Kottke, Brad Paisley, Ed Van Halen......
