About this user
Teach History is a blog dedicated to social studies and history teachers across the United States who use Colonial American history, imagination and multisensory teaching methods to inspire their students. Our goal is to provide a resource where teachers like you can access information about colonial history plus technologies, methods and products that are making a difference in education today.
As an outstanding teacher, you realize that students process information and learn in different ways. A variety of approaches are needed to keep them fully engaged and to make learning fun. History teachers know that students arent moved by memorizing names, dates and events but rather by the life stories and lessons that that information conveys. The challenge becomes how to relay those life stories and lessons in a way that not only educates but inspires. The information on this site is sure to help in that process and provide you with the tools and ideas that will make you look like a hero to your students and your schools administration!
The founder and primary author of Teach History is Ben Edwards, a childrens book author, Boston historian and tour guide. Over the past six years, Ben has worked with thousands of students and hundreds of teachers in grades 3-6 throughout New England. His school author visits and Boston field trips sell out each year due in large part to his passion for history and creative teaching methods. Ben uses audio, video, storytelling, imagination, the latest technology and hands-on access to unique primary source materials to engage every style of learner you teach on a daily basis. He understands not only your students but the desire you have to be your best professionally and to make a real difference in the lives of the children you teach.
