To clear up all the confusion the one on the left was a 7.3L powered Ford. Without seeing the front end its a 99-early 03 model. The one that broke was a 6.4L powered Ford 08-10 model. The 7.3L is the best diesel that was ever put into a Ford even though it lacked a lot of power.

Scags mower might have a ground speed of 16 mph but I guarantee it can't mow at 16. I'd put an Xcaliber up against it any day....the Dixie Chopper will mower an equal spot of grass faster with a better cut quality.

My problem with that suspension ride is its all rubber. What happens when the rubber starts to sag after extended use? The deck will have a pitch that is far to great for a good cut. Why dont they use steel springs like another manufacturer so there is no wear?

The problem is you can go buy a World Lawn...exact same quality mower for at least $3k less. I have yet to figure out how Toro and Exmark sell their junk for $10k plus.

Yea I could tell the deck was not engaged which is a very safe practice while kids are involved. Glad to see the younger generation get excited about Dixie chopper!
