To "believe" is more than just saying "yeah I believe there is a God" It means to put our trust and confidence in Him,that He alone can save us.It is to put Christ in charge of our present plans and eternal destiny. Believing is both trusting His words as reliable, and relying on Him for the power to change. If you have never trusted Christ, let this promise of everlasting life be yours and believe!
John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that He gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life"
John 3:3 "Jesus replied,"I assure you, unless you are born again you can never see the Kingdom of God"
And the requirements are repentance and spiritual rebirth, people don't enter the Kingdom of God by living a better life, but by being spiritually reborn. Ask Jesus to come into your heart, confess that you believe in Him, that He died on the cross for our sins, and 3 days later was risen from the dead, and when you verbally speak these words and really mean them in heart God will save you, and your life will change. I remember when i asked the Lord to come into my heart, depending on the burdens you've been carrying all your life depends on whether or not you feel a weight lifted off your chest so to speak, i could feel that i had done something good right away...but then the next day even i could tell things were changing. My outlook on certain things were different, now that I've been saved for 11 years i know that it was conviction setting in, but then i didn't know what that even was, also i remember having this urge to get me a Bible and learn about God,my Creator...It was so awesome cause i was afraid to tell Todd that i had accepted the Lord because i didn't know how he would feel, and he was the best husband..He surprised me the next morning with a Bible on his way home from work, yeah he worked 3rd shift then. I later found out he was ready to change as well...and we found a local church with in a couple of months and he and the kids said the sinners prayer and asked the Lord into their hearts too....but ya know with the kids they were so young they needed to rededicate themselves after becoming an adult. One of the things we did after receiving Christ is we went through all our movies and got rid of the ones that had garbage in them...and this was a conviction we had in our hearts to do, some people may not right away..It all depends on your personal feelings in your heart..anyway our life changed from that moment on and we have been growing in the Lord every since...I hope you'll decide to ask Him into your hearts & lives...Because i can testify that in doing so, your life will change for the better...ours has never been better! Remember Jesus loves you!
