Taylor Maxwell once dreamed of being a professional baseball player, but time and space tend to have a way with all our lives and our dreams and Taylor was no different. A series of experiences including an illness which threatened the life of his father worked together to give Taylor pause to look at the world which exists beyond the playing fields of his youth and the false promises of joy in Orlando's theme parks.
Athlete or no Taylor was born with the soul of a minstrel.... a traveling musical poet who now sought out life experiences which would bring real meaning to him and with those in whom he came in contact. The results of that exploration eventually brought him in contact with other people who sought the same value in life. Soon Taylor found himself writing about real social issues faced by people without the voice to proclaim their ills.
He fed the hungry; He cried with AIDS infected orphans in South Africa; He took up the plight of child soldiers; He sought out those who are displaced by politics and the apathy of others.
All these experienced forever changed the life of a fellow once focused on personal fame and accomplishment... Now success is spelled out in giving hope to the hopeless, giving food to the hungry and bringing awareness to the needs of many to the few who will listen.
No one gives out championship rings for being the man who is willing go... But someone should. Over the years Taylor's music has been a reflection of many things: His life; Those things he loves... like his faith and things he hates... like the suffering caused by AIDS; His mood;
Even world politics combined with social and cultural change have been musical inspirations. But... no matter the motivation, ever since he first picked up his first guitar Taylor has been driven both to write and perform his own music
