@Qu1ckDrawN1nja Wouldn't hurt unless your willing to have Sony fix it for a fee. If you are planning on doing it again then I would suggest refluxing before reflowing with 'No Clean Flux' sold cheaply on ebay. Review the video process for refluxing and then if you are really wanting to keep it ...

Ok 2nd attempt, applied no clean flux to chips on both sides of the motherboard, heat gun chips for 20 seconds and cooled each side as well. Reapplied Artic Silver AND modified PS3 fan to run direct off 3.3v from the systems power source but added a potentiometer to dial down fan speed. So far,...

Well I'm back, YLOD returned after only a week of repairs. Seems the system is overheating and think the fan is not cooling well enough for some reason. Will try again, this time reflux the board + check heat sink's seating + modify the fan to either work full blast or add a pot to dial a faste...
