No regrets. I'm a veteran, wife, mother and advocate for my son. I volunteer my time to a worldwide network - Arachnoid Cyst Awareness Network. I never thought my journey in life would take me so far, to many different places around the world, and connect with so many people. I've learned so much along the way, and I'm very grateful for these experiences.
My son developed 3 neurological disorders; arachnoid cyst, hydrocephalus, and syringomyelia. With the syringomyelia being the most rare, and progressively degenerative disorder, it all could have been avoided had he received the proper treatment in a timely manner. Instead, he suffered due to the complacency of numerous doctors. His symptoms were often ignored because the cyst is benign, but the complications that it caused were potentially fatal, and yes - it almost took his life.
