Moon is interesting. Townsend's a genius.

Cream's best song. A bit rushed here; it's value was always the drag between Baker's drums and the bass line, a pondering thing, ominous. It's there in this rendition, but only in the bridges, very deliberately and boringly.

Watch the audience.It's a great and historic performance. Everyone waits for popcorn to be delivered.

But they were this tight when they first formed and recorded. if they weren't, we wouldn't have liked their material. They came out of the chute professional and tight. that's why they aren't some other band.

yes, this is the Clapton I admired, in a band of great quality and skill and imagination. they didn't write this song (nor most others), but they pulled it off as no other band could have -- heavy, lyrical, longing, powerful . . . .

Never quite got into the Santana worship church. He can play what he wants, as we all can. he can't always play well or in an interesting way. but this is fine and fun.

The drummer is fine, don't get me wrong. It just misses the essence of "sunshine of your love." I assume everyone was fine with this (Clapton), so everything's fine. But it's just a little off to me .. .

Phil Collins is so good, but he so often fails to get the essence of a song. Ginger Baker put a strong and distinctive mark on this song, turning it from what we hear here into a very interesting bit of syncopation. Collins doesn't get syncopation, unfortunately, and so he doesn't get half of Cr...

I don't know. 50,000 screaming girls in a bowl-shaped arena vs. 100 watts of amplification and some doofy PA system. Girls win; Beatles quit.

As John said, the lyrics are completely meaningless, gibberish. Just some junk he made up to fit the melody (which is how they wrote most of their lyrics, these being a bit stranger than usual). The song is stellar, the meaning is worthless. There is no meaning to it. Beatles lyrics seldom if e...

This song took a lot of guts, I think, at the time. Yet, I think it changed the character of much debate and social organizing. "If the Beatles aren't particularly destructive of the system, do I really want to be?"

This, an interlude from a studio session (in the building below) where they weren't getting along, not getting anything done. After this, they sort of gave up being together, from what I've read. Too bad. Which makes this kind of precious.

I'm sure Paul plays things differently now. He's not trying to duplicate some tape he made 40-50 years ago in a studio. As the rhythm guitarist said, they try to hit all the riffs everyone expects to hear, but even the Beatles wouldn't play the same song the same way twice, live. They'd be bored ...

If I needed a drummer and I wasn't available, I couldn't go wrong with Collins.

Got into Julian first because of John and curiosity. Back when this song came out. Quite quickly forgot about John (never liked John solo anyway). Julian stands on his own, and I like his songs very much. I listened to them a lot.

I really liked these CDs, too. Listened to them all the time. Nothing to do with John. Totally forgotten here. This is just really nice music.

I was proud to have been in Red Square a few times ice skating and such and to have traveled a bit and be marrying a russian lady, and I like the heck out of russians!
