Altough I do not live in NC, I still consider myself to be a Tarheel. I was non-religious from the age of 16 or so and did not become an unapologetic atheist until 9/11, when my eyes were opened to the dangers and horrors of fundamentalist religion. In August, I created Inland Empire Atheists on meetup.com. If you live in the Inland Empire and wish to join, please do so. IEA provides a sense of community for atheists that is sadly lacking in many areas of the country.
