William H. "Tank" Black was an All-American football player in both high school and college in South Carolina. Following his coaching career, he founded one of the country's top sports agencies, Professional Management Incorporated (PMI). A bona fide super agent, Black's client roster included a who's who of sports stars. In addition to his agency, Black was one of the country's most successful black entrepreneurs with a thriving travel company, a successful systems integration company and real estate properties also under his management.
