Tallahassee Swing began in the late 1970s as a way to perform and keep alive the music of the Big Band era.
Members then and now come from all walks of life and backgrounds as musicians.
In 1989, we started a weekly dance on Tuesday night at the Amercian Legion. Through the years, many of the dancers have formed lasting friendships, gotten married and Tuesday nights have become an important part of their social lives.
Throughout the North Florida area and as far south as Orlando. Tallahassee Swing has performed for weddings, birthdays, bar mitzvahs, bat mitzvahs, fund raising events and concerts.
Because many of our venues are for dancers, we have increased our repertiore to include songs for all forms of ballroom and popular dances.
Join Tallahassee Swing every Tuesday night at 7:30 at the American Legion on Lake Ella for ballroom dancing.
