Well, Tom, you are a talented musician yourself and you know that
making music is not about being a narcissus or a show-off, or
about competition, but just about achieving the communication
that is important to one at the time... For me, every note must
mean something and its meaning must not be obliterated or
watered down by a load of sounds that mean nothing...Simple,
clear speech that comes from the innermost and wishes to
reach the innermost. Maybe because my element is earth, and
not fire!....
