TAFE NSW Western Sydney Institute covers a geographic area that extends from Parramatta to the Blue Mountains and has campuses in 10 locations. It provides vocational education, training and workforce development services to industry and enterprises, individuals and the community.
Western Sydney Institute has a facility for distance education located at Strathfield. The Open Training and Education Network (OTEN) is a specialist distance education and open learning provider delivering courses online using an extensive range of media. The Institutes Australian Workforce Development Solutions provide a wide range of training and assessment services to enterprises in the region. The unit provides business and government agencies with solutions that provide productivity through skills development and customised services.
In 2008, training was delivered to more than 80,000 students through Western Sydney Institute and OTEN. The success of the Institute has been demonstrated through its vast array of industry, student and staff awards recognition.
