As an Enlisted Soldier, I served as a Combat Engineer in the Ohio National Guard, an Infantryman in the 2nd Ranger Battalion, and as a Special Forces Engineer in the 11th SFG (A). After receiving a commission from Ohio State in 1994, I served as an Infantry Officer in the 10th Mountain Division, the 29th Infantry Regiment, and the 18th Airborne Corps. My last assignment was with the 30th Heavy Separate Brigade of the North Carolina Army National Guard which deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. While in Iraq, I served as a Liaison Officer to the First Infantry Division in Tikrit and later with the 1/120th Infantry Battalion at Tuz Iraq. I retired after 23 years.
