Ashish Tare was born in Pune on October 23rd 1994. He began learning Tabla from his father at age 6, and has been learning for the past 10 years and performed his first Tabla Solo at the age of 7 at the Maharashtra Mandal Ganesh Utsav. He has also been learning Tabla from Pt. Swapan Chaudhuri at the Ali Akbar College of Music for the past 5 years. He really enjoys playing Tabla, and has won numerous awards at Music Competitions. In the 2010 SatyaDevi Music Competition, he won the 1st Place Award in the Senior Tabla category, and the 2010 Outstanding Performer Award. He received a 1st Class & Distinction score ABGMV Praveshika Pratham and the Praveshika Purna Tabla Exam. He was one of the Semi-Finalists for the National Crescendo Music Competition. His hobbies include Cricket, Tabla, Web Design, and iPhone Programming.
