This wasn't "cheese' at all. It was a great song. Had a definite dreamy ambiance. 1983 I think it was. There was a movie with the same title many years before.

The guy playing piano on this track is session musician Larry Knechtel. He's played keyboards and bass on hundreds of LA recording sessions as well as being a member of the group Bread.

This clip was filmed in Norway during a European tour in the spring of 1967. By then "Green Onions" was closing in on being 5 years old.

I just found out that a guy named Jack Hood from a radio station in Detroit mixed the two solo versions that inspired them to do this song as a true duet. The song's a bit hokey to my tastes nowadays but I'll have to admit they took this particular performance seriously enough to get the deserved...

Notice the stereo mix go "12:00 MONO" at 2:17? I surmise that particular take was done in mono...where General Johnson goes "BRRRRRRP"!
