I say let us learn from the mistakes of the past, rather than attack each other based on past mistakes... Petty conflicts and sectarian issues should never divide the revolutionary-left, only through solidarity can our common goals be realized...

Solidarity must be he basis for workers' control, and for any true realization of Anarchism or Communism. Without solidarity, there cannot be Socialism or any movement away from the capitalist methods of exploitation.

In regards to Che Guevara, the articles contain very damning indictments about him. I will not question the reliability of the author or his sources, I must only say that I have encountered much to the contrary in regards to Che's legacy. As economic minister in Cuba, I have read that Che ardently supported workers' self-managed enterprises as part of his "budgetary finance" model... What ever the truth is, Che is deeply respected and loved by many and his legacy remains that of militant revolutionary zeal and martyrdom in the struggle against injustice and exploitation. After all, how different was a Marxist-Communist martyr like Che from an Anarcho-Syndicalist martyr like Comrade Durruti?

I am well aware of this, and as a Communist I am not at all inclined to join the ranks of Stalinists or reactionary oppurtunists... I am a Communist who believes firmly in the Soviets', and their example of direct workers' organized control.... I believe all examples of genuine workers' self-management should be supported by true revolutionaries... whether communist, socialist, anarchist, syndicalist or other.

I personally agree with Lenin's view that the conditions for Socialism in our country did not exist at the time. Moreover, the harsh conditions imposed by foreign intervention, a bloody civil war, and the pressures of internal reaction and counter-revolution forced even the radical left inside the Bolshevik party to make retreats. True, when looking at Spain in 1936, the revolutionaries successfully established workers' self-managed collectives and bravely fought in defense of their revolution even in the face of fascist attack and republican reaction... However, conditions in Spain on the eve of the fascist coup were far different than those in Russia on the eve of the October "coup"/revolution... and what began with Lenin's famous proclamation "All power to the Soviets!" in Petrograd/St. Petersburg, ended in an empty shell of the forces of October... a centralized bureaucratic structure.

I have taken time to read with an open mind the materials you linked, the articles regarding both Che and Bolshevism. In sharing my own opinion on these articles, I must first emphasize as a person from Russia... that as Lenin himself pointed out, Bolshevism was suited to Russian conditions. It can not be forgotten that it was the Soviets' Russia's workers' council support which Lenin appealed to and which was the original basis for the October Revolution, proclamation of a "Soviet Union" by Lenin, and the eventual victory of Bolshevik forces.

It is right, even Bolshevists are educateable by clarification, I was very successful with the following two texts:

Greetings comrade, let us not divide ourselves over petty issues... Why not show solidarity to all comrades, syndicalist, anarchist, socialist, and communist. Even Liberals, Social democrats, and Stalinists can sometimes be won over to a left-revolutionary cause, if engaged and educated.

We must never be dogmatic or sectarian, and where it is possible the left must rally against all forms of tyranny, oppression, exploitation, and heirarchy. Let us not attack or fight each other on this or that issue, but realize what goals the left share in common... This is what we must focus on, if ever we hope to carry forward the banner and example of organizations like the CNT-FAI.
