There in the Quran, there is very important verse - in my opinion;

The Q4.82 claims (word-by-word):

''
will they not - ponder - the Quran --
and - if - it was - from - other - Allah --
you would find - in it - difference (ikhtilaafan) - much
''

Some translations use the noun 'discrepancy' for 'difference'.

The obvious sense of the verse is that
if there are/were many contradictions in the Quran, so the Quran is not/ would be not Allah's word.

Now, everyone can be sure that many Muslims are going to do everything - absolutely everything - to show you that the Quran is 'unmistaken',
for otherwise they would prove themselves that they are in false religion (Q4.82).

Now, the ways these Muslims try to use to defend own holy book are many, but between them are:

- twisting meaning of Arabic words in Quran (example of Indian Muslim preacher ZAKIR NAIK);

- obvious direct linguistic contradictions in the Quran they name to be 'metaphors',
while seemingly correct they never name any 'metaphors' :-)));

it depends more on what modern science claims or not, than what, actually, the Quran really claims;

- they change understanding of some words to match modern science (for the words may have different meanings),
contradicting this way previous Muslim tradition.

The example is the word 'alaq' (Q96.2),
which even by Pickthall and Yusuf Ali are translated to 'clot of congealed blood',
but this make Q96.2 a false statement.

(Q96.2: ''[Allah] Created man, out of a (mere) clot of congealed blood.'' (YUSUF ALI)).

- sometimes you could be threaten with death (I already have one such mail in my youtube account);

- etc.

When I read the Quran, trying of course to understand its original Arabic meaning,
I earn big conviction, that the text of Quran comes really from human who:

1. had a bit of problems with Arabic grammar, vocabulary and oration, though making sometimes a good bit of poetry,

2. had not known too much about scientific facts -- so made some mistakes in the Quran,

3. described features of the world as he had seen them rather than they really are (eg. the shape of the Earth -- as I shown in Arabic on right),

or Q51.49 which claims:

'And of every thing We [Allah] have created pairs: That ye may receive instruction.'

The statement of Q51.49 is obviously false for some animals and plants are asexual -- THEY CANNOT BE IN PAIRS!!!!!

4. had mixed (or even invented) some Biblical & not Biblical stories to match his conceptions in the Quran,

5. had plagiarized some pre-Islamic knowledge,
eg. Galenic theory of embryology (here Harith ibn Kalada - the graduate of Persian medical academy in Jundishapur could enlighten Muhammad in medicine)'

6. etc.

The above don't seem to prove the Quran an Allah's word.
It shows rather that it is a human (or humans) who invented the Quran.

So, how to believe to the Quran?
