That was Norton well after Ali was in his real prime that, sadly, nobody really had an opportunity to see. My best guess is that Ali would either have stopped Marciano on cuts or decisioned him over 12 rounds. Had it gone to 15, then MAYBE Rocky would have had a chance, but I seriously doubt it.

Similar, but different. Borg had to put an exagerated backswing to achieve the topspin, due to the wooden racquet. Roger's backswing was far more compact simply because the racquet head does most of the work.

We NEVER got to see Ali in his REAL prime! That period was taken from him. Would Marciano have given the post exile Ali a tough fight? By all means, yes. Would have have touched the pre-exile Ali during his prime? Probably not.
