Hey. I saw you posted a comment on an irish dancing video asking how you can stay on your toes with your irish dance shoes. here is my advice.
one way of helping is by breaking into your shoes. This basically means making the section of your shoe, between the heel and the tap bendy and flexible. One way of doing this is by bending your shoe so that the tap and the heel are touching each other and and using masking tape to hold the shoe in this position. Leave your shoes like that for twenty four hours and see if the shoes become more bendy and flexible. Hopefully when you put your shoe on again you should feel the difference. When you go on your toes again try shifting your weight to the centre of your body holding onto a bar or a platfrom. See how long you can stay up and try and remember the way you're body is positioned. Hope these techniques help. |
