Thanks Susy. Had a play with the tension and set it to 4/3 which worked better - then the yarn got tangled and, almost finished the back, there is a very noticeable tight spot so out it comes again! (Thank goodness for wool winders). I'm now about to give up with the fisherman's rib and do the sweater in 1x1 rib instead.

Hi pythonaria.
I really don't know how to solve your problem.. I haven't actually done much fisherman's rib and it's a problem I've never come across.
Sorry I can't be of any help.

Hi Susy. I'm having problems with fisherman's rib. It works fine so far then I get patches where the knitting has puckered badly. I'm on my 4th attempt at the back of a sweater :( My machine is a Toyota 901 with ribber. Ordinary rib is good, as is everything else, just the fisherman's rib. The main carriage is set to plain and the ribber carriage set for tuck (as per Toyota's manual), both carriages tension 3/3 which I found worked best when doing swatches. Any ideas of what I'm doing wrong? (Help!!!)

Hi rocketiera1,
I don't use mylar sheets but I did a quick Google search and found some for sale here http://www.metropolitanmachineknitting.co.uk

Hi Susy. I am retired now and as we now have 2 grandchildren with 2 more anticipated soon, my wife is hoping to get her Brother KH 950i out of the loft and serviced. It is almost 20 years since it was last used. I am cleaning it thoroughly and will be fitting a new sponge bar, but we have forgotten most of the techniques, so I am collecting video clips from you tube. How can I get blank mylar cards for the card reader as this machine does not use punch cards? Happy New Year to you.

It is possible to do socks on the Bond although they would be quite thick as the thinnest yarn you can use is DK (unless you're using a Bond Elite machine).

Do you think it would be possible to do socks on the bond?
