My weight loss journey, my dogs, my family, general bit of my life, my refound hobby of scrapbooking and a new interest in making mini books.
About Me:
I am also mom to 6 furbabies, four dachshunds Pica, Pinto, Patches, and Benjamin. Also there's Bella, our HUGE 9 month old black lab puppy, and Oreo the hidden tuxedo cat. (she stays hidden most of the time away from the dogs!)
I am on my journey to WLS (lapband), having started in April of this year.
I am nearing the end of my 6 month supervised diet and exercise program, and have had my psych eval and EGD done already. The rest of the things I need to do will be in November or December. My paperwork will be submitted in January 2011, and hopefully I'll be approved pretty quickly.
It's a bit of a wait, but I have gotten this far, so I can wait a few more months!
UPDATE: I began to have second thoughts about getting the lapband in December, and was reseaching the RNY (gastric bypass) procedure. All month I was in turmoil, not sure what to do. I got a lot of emotional and moral support from my friend Virginia (virginiaann1975),On December 31, 2011, I finally made the decision to have the RNY, and I don't regret my decision at all.
My surgery was done on February 14th, 2011, (my love gift to myself!). On surgery day, I weighed 223 lbs, and today (August 4, 2011) I weigh 165 lbs! My starting weight was 261 lbs on April 7, 2010, and now, one year, four months later I have lost 96 lbs! I still have about 30 lbs to go until I reach my goal weight of 135, I am hoping I will reach that around November.
Recently I rediscovered my old hobby of scrapbooking and paper crafting. Ever since then, I have been working on scrapbook pages and learning how to make mini scrapbook albums (also known as mini books) here on YouTube. Yesterday I learned about junque journals, so now that is another project I have started. I love being creative again, when I stopped crafting 4 years ago, I thought my muse had left me forever. I am glad she decided to return!
