When will this be out on A CD?

@Teothemexican Great music from my generation....the '60s and '70s. I have the original 33&1/3 rpm RECORD.Its still in good condition.

There were alot of women I wanted to get to know after I came back from Vietnam,but I had only had 30 days before they shipped me off to Holy Loch, Scotland and the Sub Tender, USS Simon Lake. This song was #17 on the BILLBOARDS TOP 40 at that time.

As much air-time as this song got when it first came out, I'm suprised it only got to #6 on Billboard's Top 40 Charts in June of 1965.

@TheWolfsDen617 Your right! The Postal Union went on STRIKE in the late ,60s early '70s when I was with the NAVY in Holy Loch, Scotland. And I was A Navy POSTAL CLERK. We could only sell the stamps we had. We couldn't send the letters anywhere.

@redtrev I know how you feel about this music. I'm 63 and, the MUSIC of the '60s and '70s was something from the heart. I have most of the Original Beatles albums on 33&1/3 rpm.

@tigerwoods200848 I have all of Bill's albums too, on 33&1/3. Check at A book store in the COLLECTIBLES SECTION to find out their worth. The Sleeve has to be in good to excellent condition to be worth anything. And, no scratches on the record.

@guido1365 AND HOW ABOUT THE DAVE CLARK FIVE, THE ROLLING STONES, THE BEE GEES,THE BUCKINGHAMS, THE RASCALS, AND ALL THOSE OTHER GROUPS OF THE '60S AND '70S? THEY HAD THEIR OWN STYLE OF MUSIC, JUST LIKE BUDDY RANDELL AND THE KNICKERBOCKERS.

I think I still have this on A 45rpm record. Billboards Top40 has The Kingston Trio as the "Originators" of the folk music craze of the 1960s.Use to sing this at summer camp.My God,I'm 63 now and I still love music.

Damn! I hated this song when it first came out in 1970. Son of A gun , it grew on me and I started to sing it when learned the words. Still love today

I don't know why it took so long for Sugarloaf to get another top 10 song after Green-Eyed Lady. Was it because they changed record labels somewhere between 1970 and 1975. And, where are they now?

This was the 45rpm version. The longer version almost 3 times longer, found on the 331/3 album version, and maybe on some of today's CDs. Its hard to believe that this was the only #1 song by David Gates and Bread. The seventies had alot of great love songs, and, by the the end of the decade, alot of "break-up" songs. I should know.......

@554jim Welcome home brother. I heard this song alot, going up and down the Mekong Delta '68-'69 with the Rivereen Force. I think the music of those days was the only thing that kept me alive and sain.

Now I'm living in the Myrtle Beach area where there are alot of Vietnam vets.
