Hi Michael, try adding about 1/4 water to the whisky to open up the flavours, it stops the alcohol overpowering the flavour. Do what you want with your whisky, but can I have the Glenlivet you spat out (joke)

Recommend this, it's interesting that a 15yo is that little bit better than a 12 or 10 year. I think I prefer the 15yo Solera Glenfiddich, which is very different, have you tried that? I changed my mind on the 18yo, after adding a splash of water (I like to add a bit more than Ralfy), it really opened flavour up. Still not as good as the 15yo Solera in my view, a little better than the 12, which is still very good. Ralfy any idea why the 15/18 feel to be stronger than 40%?
