Hello! I'm a student of literature, poet & cellist who once studied Japanese in university and now translate songs to keep up my ability. On my channel you will find English translations of songs from the depths of the music world, all of which have some element of the Gothic, neo-classical or fantastic in them. The translations I post all fall somewhere within these categories:
-Gothic Lolita & Neo-classical
-Doujin (self-produced) & Fantasy
-J-tek, Electro & Darkwave
I hope you use this channel as a venue to not only get a deeper understanding of each song's meaning, but also to discover new songs from exciting and unique artists.

I love Kalafina too, it's my favourite band. Thank you for the compliment. :) Like I wrote on the videos, most of the translations are from Canta-perme, it's a Yuki Kajiura fansite. Though, some of the lyrics were altered by me when I thought of a better way to translate. But in Magia and Kagayaku sora no shijima ni wa, I had multiple traslations and kind of mixed them to sound good, but I always read the translation and try to make it as fluent as possible. I've studied japanese for about 2 years now, I go to class once a week. ^^ And I put the kanji lyrics in my videos, because it's like studying at the same time. :) Btw, do you have any Kalafina requests? :)

There's a guy named "Beirut" who while not Japanese (American, East Coast somewhere I think) makes really cool gypsy-ish music. Odd instruments that produce great sounds like ukelele and trumpet together. My fav's are "Elephant Gun" and "A Sunday's Smile." I thought if you like Sumire and other musicians that have a romantic bohemian type feel you might like his stuff. Okay, not trying to spam, so see ya!
