Metal is a heat conductor and having the internal tin sitting on top of the exterior tin means that heat will be transferred to the outter tin easily. So, you shoiuld use a heat insulator like a piece of wood in the base of the outter tin or you may cause problems and melt or incenerate whatever...

If you want a cheap quick available tool to get that bearing out, what you do is put the disc back on BACKWARDS and bolt it up just a couple of turns on the thread and use it as a slide hammer.
