(I Want To) Come Home, by Paul McCartney, 2009.
For so long I was out in the cold And I taught myself to believe Every story I told It was fun hanging onto the moon Heading into the sun But it's been too long Now I want to come home
Came so close To the edge of defeat But I made my way in the shade Keeping out of the heat It was fun shooting out of the stars Looking into the sun But it's been too long Now I want to come home
Home where there's nothing but sweet surrender To the memories from afar Home to the place Where the truth lies waiting We remember who we are
For too long I was out on my own Every day I spent trying to prove I could make it alone It was fun hanging onto the moon Heading into the sun But it's been too long Now I want to come home
For so long I was out in the cold But I taught myself to believe Every story I told It was fun hanging onto the moon Heading into the sun But its been too long Now I want to come home Yeah it's been too long Now I want to come home Been too long Now I want to come.

Find more John Lennon and other music on my channel.
LYRICS:
One, two, a one, two, three, four
Well now the underground and overjoyed they come on just the same Don't wanna get too real man, just wanna play the game I guess ya knew it all along we were just singing in the rain Can't get hipped to the down trip, the ship is sailing yet And if it sinks, you know that all you really get is wet!
Move over Ms. L. You know I wish you well Move over Ms. L. you know I wish you well Move over Ms. L.
Well now to err is something human and forgiving so divine I'll forgive your trespasses, if you forgive me mine Life's a deal, you knew it, when you signed the dotted line They nail you to the paper, put a rope around your neck And so we sing along, the boy stood on the burning deck!
Move over Ms. L. You know I wish you well Move over Ms. L. you know I wish you well Move over Ms. L.
Well now momma poppa told me son you better watch your head Your head is fulla snakes boy, you're better red than dead They're starving back in China, that's what they always said! Can't get head in the head shop, yer jeans are fulla crap You're full of beans, you're in your teens, you lost your momma's road map!
Move over Ms. L. You know I wish you well Move over Ms. L. you know I wish you well Move over Ms. L.

This is a rare John Lennon song written during the Beatles famed 1968 trip to India accompanied by some great shots of the Fab. It's about coming to India and trying to follow his heart, but knowing that his heart was really back in England where his love waited. It is speculated that Lennon didn't release it at the time because it would have made public his feelings for Yoko while he was still with Cynthia Lennon.

Have you ever seen a one trick pony in the field so happy and free? If you've ever seen a one trick pony then you've seen me Have you ever seen a one-legged dog making its way down the street? If you've ever seen a one-legged dog then you've seen me
Then you've seen me, I come and stand at every door Then you've seen me, I always leave with less than I had before Then you've seen me, bet I can make you smile when the blood, it hits the floor Tell me, friend, can you ask for anything more? Tell me can you ask for anything more?
Have you ever seen a scarecrow filled with nothing but dust and wheat? If you've ever seen that scarecrow then you've seen me Have you ever seen a one-armed man punching at nothing but the breeze? If you've ever seen a one-armed man then you've seen me
Then you've seen me, I come and stand at every door Then you've seen me, I always leave with less than I had before Then you've seen me, bet I can make you smile when the blood, it hits the floor Tell me, friend, can you ask for anything more? Tell me can you ask for anything more?
These things that have comforted me, I drive away This place that is my home I cannot stay My only faith's in the broken bones and bruises I display
Have you ever seen a one-legged man trying to dance his way free? If you've ever seen a one-legged man then you've seen me

The oblique "Distractions" was a song that greatly benefited from additional hearings of the track, a characteristic shared by few other tunes on "Flowers in the Dirt." The basic track was recorded at the Mill during the summer of 1988. A potent string arrangement by Clare Fischer was taped later in the year in Los Feliz, California at Chick Corea's Mad Hatter Studios in a 2-5pm session on November 1, 1988. The orchestra consisted consisted of fourteen violins, four violas, two cellos, and an acoustic bass. Also recorded during this session was an arrangement written by Fischer for the Macca/Costello tune "The Lovers That Never Were," but this take went unissued. At one point, "Distractions" was considered as the third single to be pulled from the LP with a tentative release date of September 25, 1989. Instead, "Figure of Eight" took its place. An alternate mix appears here as the soundtrack to the video included in the "Put it There" documentary. The studio clips featuring Paul, Chris, and Hamish appear staged for the videos purpose, and were possibly shot at the same time as the "Put it There" special.
