Im glad you made the connection that illegals are slaves but I would say serfs since they will never truly belong here or participate in public. Slaves were provided food and shelter; illegals arent (just their American children are). We have illegals pay the taxes to support the benfits of the working poor, cut costs for the middle class, lower wages of the poor and do the jobs to keep people forever on welfare. That is why the gvmnt never says how many there are. Blaming ONLY them is wrong, the people exploiting should be punished.

another way to look at it, to what degree do these bland nongod religious people practice their religion to be neutral about god or simply de facto atheistic, like many buddhists are atheists by default with no apparent effort or direct goal as such... the point of religion is god and getting back to god, going to heaven... a cursory review of the traditions of western civilization and religion (the great triumvirate jews/moslems/xians) will overwhelmingly point to the definition as having this goal as practiced by the VAST majority of the west for far longer than any current more liberal updated definition of what religion is...
religion is losing the debate and they want distance from that word, much as liberals have transmogrified their self-appellation to mean PROGRESSIVE... when words become unpopular there is always the less used one to replace it for euphemistic reasons and purely cowardice

look at it this way using another example, i avoid dichotomies and rigid yes/no ideas and Aristotelian logic - YET they have their place, like with AGNOSTIC-ATHEIST... they both are atheists... and sure, you can give me all the examples of religious LIKE practice that does not include directly a god, some bland generic ritualistic spirituality, etc... but i think religion (as a god worshiping thing) should be attacked as such, directly, as opposed to christians trying to say atheism is a religion.
