The weird thing about this song is that if you translate it into english (bearing in mind that a "Leiermann" is an "organgrinder") "do you want to grind your organ to my songs" ("willst zu meinen Liedern deine leier dre'n?") it has a very sexual meaning that is uncertain in the original german b...

Hmmm, if we are talking about beauty, depth, emotion etc in the "modern" idiom why not try Henrik Gorecki. The obvious sym Nr3 is a good starting point but there's loads more.
