Women/girls are NOT supposed to be at the drum, this tradition goes way back since the beginning of time. Respect the traditions! ASK a Lakota Elder. Almost all of our sacred rites are being destroyed by contemporary indians, we need to go back to who we really are.

the lakota song was recorded in 1932, the singers are all gone now. I am one of the granddaughters of the singer who made this song. I am full-blood Lakota, I cry when I hear these songs, I remember when Papa sang, and what his voice sounded like. Thank you for using his song.

why get al upset with this song,am also a sun dancer and been singing at sun dance for more than 30 years,was lucky to be singing with them old timers and this song isnt a sundance power song ,just a modern song made for sun dance,no power there
