The Clock

I live in a small town surrounded by beautiful scenery, horse farms and dairy farms. In recent years, urban dwellers have moved here for the peaceful surroundings. However, they do not want anything to change, leaving us with no jobs for our sons and daughters and an unaffordable cost of living. In other words, they want time to stand still in our little corner of the world. When the town clock stopped working and the hands were removed, I was inspired to write the following words...
