It doesn't matter that the target was the head on a north south hit. He was literally right in front of him. Targeting to the head is a suspension only if it is a blindside hit, from the side or behind. That's the way they originally wrote the rule anyway.

The best part about this hit is that Nash saw him coming at the last second and had a bried moment to brace himself. It didn't matter though.

I love how the media criticizes the NHL for violence, but a blind side hit in the NFL is immortalized on highlight reels. Players are trained and taught to injure the guy they hit in football. Can we say double standard?
