Mindbender is one of the greatest library records ever released on an unappreciative public. Legend has it that Barry Forgie recorded a suite of music in a few hours, then contacted some composer friends, asking them to whip up some instrumentals in the style of his spontaneous recordings. This track is credited to Nino Nardini and despite an unorthodox approach, the album hangs together extremely well - perfect for late night chill outs when hungry ears fancy guzzling on a bizarre platter of harpsicords, sitars and bongos. Good luck finding an original copy - it's super rare and WW3 has nearly broken out on a number of occasions as vinyl addicts scrap over copies in LP bins... The video is a nostalgic fest encouraging urbanites to forsake unpleasant city living and move to a new town. For those unaware, England is filled with them - the result of planning committees and quangos looking to house baby boomers and their sprogs. Although the towns in this short are anonymous, they could perhaps be animated versions of your current abode... If you happen to live in Basildon or Corby or Hemel Hempstead or Stevenage or Welwyn Garden or Skelmersdale or Warrington - or even the much maligned Milton Keynes. (less info)
