The herbal formulas were developed exclusively for STWS by world-renowned Ayurvedic doctors Pankaj and Smita Naram, who have worked with the Dalai Lama and Mother Theresa. The herbal formulas are designed to be integrated with any other medical protocol.
Currently we have 423 people on our program, 292 of them New York City Firefighters. Among the rest are NYPD, DDC (NY Dept. of Design and Construction), EMS, NYC Dept. of Sanitation, Salvation Army and Red Cross volunteers and Ground Zero area residents and workers.
The vast majority of participants in our herbal program report improvement to significant improvement to their respiratory systems, the most prevalent health challenge reported by those whose health has been compromised. Most people in our herb program report relief from the other symptoms associated with metal toxicity, such as fatigue, reflux (GERD), restlessness, inability to focus, memory loss, sleeplessness and even depression.
STWS also offers yoga, acupuncture, and breathing, meditation and stress workshops offered by professional health providers and practitioners who partner with us to support the wellness of our herbal program participants.
Every month we hear from our participants and they're feeling better. One of them recently told us that besides the physical, mental and emotional benefits of the detox, the most important thing the herbs offer is hope. Hope that their health can improve and they will not be held prisoner of their present symptoms for life.
