Paula & Stuart Tindall
....have been singing together at folk clubs and pubs from the early 1980's through to the mid 1990's in and around Cheshire, having first met at Sandbach Folk Club whilst Paula was still at college in Alsager.

Having moved to the Banbury area in 1997, and with two small children (and no local baby-sitting service available), we took a break from performing. However after finding the "Ride-a-Cock-Horse" Folk Club in Banbury in 2003, and being made very welcome, we started singing again and after a number of bookings at local folk clubs and festivals, encouraged by friends and other musicians along the way, we put together a CD of our music, Take Two, in January 2005.

With songs in our repertoire from Joni Mitchell to Carol King, Bob Dylan to James Taylor and Fairport Convention to Fleetwood Mac, our music spans many "genres" of contemporary as well as traditional folk & acoustic music.
More recently Stuart has written songs of his own which we also perform. Sweet Child won the Banbury Folk Clubs 2007 Songwriting competition judged by, amongst others, George Papavgeris and P.J. Wright and is included on the Family Album CD.
As a guitarist, Stuart has been influenced by performers such as John James and Martin Taylor and we occasionally include some Ragtime and Jazz Guitar music in our sets, when appropriate.
In 2005 our daughters, Sarah and Kathryn (then aged 13 & 10 respectively) began to join in with us at some of our gigs. They loved it!
At that time we were recording our 2nd CD and they joined us in the studio just for fun. This lead to them featuring on some of the tracks with both backing and lead vocals (check out Dont Know Why and Rhiannon either on the CD or listen to the song samples on our web-site) and resulted in a rapid re-naming of the CD to Family Album.

We all enjoyed this so much that the girls became more and more involved. Nowadays, when their school and social commitments permit, we all play together as........
The Tindalls:
Todays sets include many more songs featuring the girls, both vocally and instrumentally, with some surprising traditional and modern songs emerging.
Sarah (now 18) plays bass guitar and treble recorder. Kathryn (now 15) plays flute, recorder and rhythm guitar. They take turns with us in singing lead and backing vocals and in playing percussion. They also take turns in singing lead and backing vocals on their own featured songs, usually accompanied by Stuart on guitar, although they have gone solo on some of their new songs.
We suspect it wont be long before both girls are off doing their own thing (either in Folk, Pop, Jazz Dance, Rock.) so we are enjoying playing as a Folk Band with them now, whilst it lasts!
