my channel is based primarily on commercial fishing. try to let people see how selective many types of commercial fishing are. if your watching to see if i kill any dolphins or turtles then u have the wrong channel.better visit channels where these creatures are captured and held captive for peoples viewing pleasure and for a profit. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
I do not believe in all types of commercial fishing but there are many types that are very selective and have no mammal or turtle interactions. These are the types of commercial fishing that are still in danger of becoming extinct even though they are safe for the environment. SAVE OUR COMMERCIAL FISHING HERITAGE !!! EAT LOCAL SEAFOOD !!!!!! For all you animal lovers out there here's a heads up. I love animals as much as you. Great companions, breathtaking to watch , and very enjoyable, but in the winter i pick up my bow and i will hunt. Not for pleasure, though it is fun, but for food. Better than eating a cow that's meat has been handled by many people ! Not only is venison good but its good for you. LOL. If god did not intend for us to eat animals, he wouldn't have made em out of meat !!! The last statement was something i heard that was humorous, if you don't like it, oh well. Try growing,catching or killing your own food. Get outdoors and away from a grocery store and learn something valuable. MAY you release an arrow and provide to yourself and thy neighbor the necessity of nutrition, and thow shall not be influenced by those hell bent on subjecting their anti views upon thee !! Use as you see fit as long as the demolish of the earth is not present ! Not from the bible, but a good standing !

im a commercial fishermen from NC. I love the work but the hours are tough.also love bow hunting and long island ice tea's.I shall release an arrow as i see fit to provide my family with the meat required to sustain us nutritionally ! IF you don't like it, kiss my ass, my bloody hands , and subject your anti views elsewhere ! If you think all commercial fishing practices are wasteful due to bycatch, perhaps you should look toward biological laws implemented on fisherman. In NC bycatch is required in order to harvest certain species of fish. Drum and Sriped Bass are two species which require this waste. We are entitled lawfully to harvest 50% bycatch for striped bass and 51% bycatch for red drum. For instance, if i harvest 50 lbs. of striped bass, i must set more commercial gear to harvest 50 lbs of a specie worth little or no market value in order to harvest and sell my striped bass. As for the drum, if i harvest 50 lbs of this specie, i must set more gear to harvest 51 lbs of an unwanted specie with little or no market value. If fisherman here catch striped bass or red drum prior to the harvest of bycatch, we must release these fish even if mortality is present. Make sense to you ? Me neither !!!!! We need laws and regulations in the commercial fishing industry, yet we need laws which are just, helping both fish populations and fisherman alike. Bad science and false data in many aspects are forcing us into early retirement. Where's all the research being conducted ? I practically live on the water and i never see a research vessel. The only research i see is at my port where biologists measure fish and record harvests shedding no light on fish populations. The theory that small fish in regards to harvest projects overfishing is a lie, seeing as how the sizes of fish change yearly. Many biologists state the medium size fish of every specie regarding harvesting, is a key in controlling fish populations thereby allowing large fish to spawn and juvenile fish to grow. This is bleak seeing as how gear restrictions often require we harvest either the large fish or the small ! Turtle interaction is a growing concern by environmental groups, though they fail to realize as turtle populations increase, interaction will increase also. Research on gear needs to be allowed to limit interactions rather than shutting down fisheries altogether. However, it seems fishing is the only concern towards turtles. Rarely is tourism on beaches or building along coastlines mentioned. Pollution is a growing concern in our rivers also, as human population increases exponentially, pollution will also forcing many species on the bring of endangerment or extinction having no clean water in which to spawn. The only beings this will affect is fish and fisherman.

Been commercial fishing by myself for 16 years. thats 16 years of schooling and i havn't learned it all. i did however make it as far as the 5th grade so me can spel and counted long as me got nough figers an tose . Recieved most of my fishing schooling from my uncle and my father. My father is a commercial blue crab fishreman while my uncle "was before his death" a commercial set netter. I broke away from the two and became a commercial circlenet fisherman.
