Finally, a band that is as good or better than Arturo. It sounds spectacular! Chick Corea really lays down the musical 'bed' for this piece. Horacio Hernandez on drums.

@DaddyDrummer007 Bruford was the one who wrote this great drum part and he plays combinations that Alan White certainly can't play.

Bob James Morning, Noon & Night

Never understand why tags aren't added more often for the players involved in any good jazz tune. It will educate more folks to their work and playing.

Will Lee is still an underrated player IMO. Bob James is both the inventor and king of smooth jazz.

This record is from 1971 - not 1979. Santana sucked by 1979. This was when they were still young, fresh and growing.

That sounds like a wurlitzer for the 'electric piano' parts. As great as the Rhodes is, the Wulitzer filled a special place in music. Sounds great here.

@MultiDannyboy89 That's a good call- definitely they're two best - I would be hardpressed to pick between them. They had grown even more by Caranvanserai but how can anyone ignore Abraxas?

IMO Steely Dan and the Beatles are the best 'popular' bands ever when you consider their overall body of work. Watching the drummer towards the end - it seems this video is not the actual performance we are hearing.
The Dan is still among the best going today.
