I finally got my facebook page figured out. It is facebook.com/ahouseofstraw

I've had a few questions about how strong a straw bale house is, so I am blogging about it today. I came across an interesting tidbit as I did this. The three-string bales in my house each weigh about 90 pounds and there are 200 of them, so that means the bales weight 9 tons. Then, add thick adobe plasters on each side of that and you get a picture of how strong this house is! I have never felt it shudder, even in the highest winds.

I have made a Facebook page for the house. I am going to update weekly blogs about living in the house on the page. I don't have 25 likes yet so it doesn't have its own domain, but it is linked on the homepage of my website, houseofstraw.com. Eventually, it will be facebook.com/houseofstraw. Stop on by anytime!

I have been asked to blog about how the house is doing and I think Twitter might be the best way to do that. I tried Facebook once and couldn't keep up, plus my kids are on Facebook, so Mom should stay off. So, I created a Twitter account under Carolyn Roberts, username is strawlady01.
