I get the whole argument against pads, but when you have them on you think you're invincible. There is no flinching when you hit. You go full speed head first into them. It's a completely different tackle than MOST rugby tackles. This AF stly leads to brain injuries and crippling diseases later ...

Yeah soccerplayers run for 90 minutes, but anyone can train enough to run alot. Lets see how long they can run when every play your getting knocked around. Blocking=Everyone hits,Every play. And you have one tough soccer player, when we have a whole league of bad asses.

I've been playing football for nine years and never had an ass grabbing inciident. Nor have i spent more then ten seconds getting up from a play when i got hammered. A soccer player would just lay there for the rest of the game.

Most Europeans don't know that wearing pads is not by choice. It is law that you have to wear pads to play football in the US. These laws were created due to a huge spike in football related deaths( mainly caused by head injuries) in the 1920's.

Three games into the season our freshman team has had a broken collar bone, broken wrist, 2 broken arms, 2 concussions, a bone contusion, another broken wrist, a hyper extended knee, a broken ankle and a dislocated shoulder. Thats high school football in ohio for you.
