@wileyk209zback Yes! I have that Little Golden Book! Gadget was my favorite cartoon from the 1980s. I started watching it back in kindergarten back in 1983--I still watch it. LOL

Andrea Martin and Joe Flaherty play off each other perfectly in this sketch, and it's absolutely hysterical. I love how Perini walks in with her lunch, pocketbook, and a globe. Hahaha.

You have to love how "Perini" continues to refer back to the English she learned in her original sketch, "English for Beginners"--"Come in" -- when she picks up the phone. Hahaha.

Oh, yes! I'm going to say, "Haha! Look at that rotund fellow steel the other guy's gas! How humorous!" Not hardly. If I were "Ryan," I'd call the cops on that portly perpetrator.

This is perhaps the most annoying commercial known to man. I see it and the one with the gas-stealing, and I think they're not funny. Not only is the gas one humorless, I think it sets a bad example when people could copy-cat and do this with gas prices being as high as they are. Get a new lin...

@94Bballpat Actually, they did for SUPER FRIENDS: THE LEGENDARY SUPER POWERS SHOW, but in this version, it does not appear to be Olan Soule as Dr. Stein. Soule was born in 1908 so maybe he was beginning to cut back on work? Wouldn't doubt it.

@ioph3 How true! I have NO idea where they put the US version of the 80s series together--CA maybe? Maybe a random? They would have done such a better job--and probably would have helped write the English scripts! BTW, yesterday, Billie Lou Watt died ten years ago. :(

@neslink This was the best hour of television in 1990. It used to piss me off though that NBC scheduled this at 8:30 and ABC scheduled THE REAL GHOSTBUSTERS (entering its fifth season) at 9:00, since each was an hour series. I used to watch half an hour of CAPTAIN N AND THE ADVENTURES OF SUPER ...

Does anyone else miss listening to the voice of Len Carlson who voiced Prof. Coldheart? He was a great voice talent in Care Bears, C.O.P.S., Legend of Zelda (as Ganon), and many other shows.

@raterroyale As others have noted, it's most probable that Gadget is an inspector/agent for INTERPOL which is worldwide--although he does seem to work through the Metro City branch, if there were such a thing. (I don't even know how INTERPOL is set up.) Other than that, the original show did not...

OK, we all watch this show every Sunday night--who doesn't? My question: Why do they NEVER show this particular episode from NJ? Does anyone seriously know? I have NEVER seen it in the rerun cycle. Ideas?

@KiddJetix It would be nice to think that they could, but FLYING HOUSE was never quite as popular as SUPERBOOK--although equally as enjoyable. Side note: I love the incidental music from FLYING HOUSE; it's very catchy.
