@linkrocks01 thou i see where you are coming from, watching the growth of "emo" though the years and being there in the beginning stages of it, it did derive from the goth/pop punk sub culture. it was pretty much kids who couldn't handle listening to kmfdm, skinny puppy etc... but liked the style...

@thevashfan12392 i agree for the most part mainstream music in the 80's was horrid. even though i grew up in the 80's and 90's i do have a big soft spot for music from the 60' and 70's

@R3dChampi0n to answer your question. posers... if your changing your style of dress or attitude purely to gain attention or pity that is a sad state of affairs. it was an expression of how we saw/see the world around us in an attempt to hide in plan sight so to speak

definition of emo: whinny bitches not cool enough to be goth or punk... i know I'm going to get flak from someone on this. but if you grew up in the late 80's through the 90's and were goth or punk you would understand why we laugh at you, and yes your watered down.
