AWAKE

I am a nurse trying to tell common stories of the patients I see in the hospital every day. The songs are too real for most but, the album theme is really about living well. Our phobia of aging and our death defying culture promote great fear and judgment about the natural process of life. This music suggests we accept the reality of the life cycle and calls on us to define and focus on what is truly important each day. Many people panic at the end of life wanting more time having squandered the time they have had. Many people live a kind and principled life and are not afraid of their place in the natural life cycle. Life is fleeting and precious after all. Live well, die with dignity and grace when your time here has ended. At lease that's my plan for today, and probably tomorrow.
