I had the pleasure of meeting Bert Layne at his 93rd birthday party in Miamitown, Ohio in September 1982. The coolest thing was that Bert was listed in the Kentucky section of the Cincinnati telephone book. I used to call him up and talk to him and his stories were always interesting.
Hey whoever said this was "BLUEGRASS"....you need to do a little more research. This is NOT BLUEGRASS. This Old-Time music. Bluegrass was started by Bill Monroe in the 1940's. Some people think that music with a fiddle and banjo is "Bluegrass".....drives me nuts sometimes.....
Boy I sure miss John. He was the best man at our wedding.
