The visionary behind PLURAL, a successful interior design company in Orange County that is lauded for its out-of-the-box ideas and imaginative design solutions, Stephanie Cook's design sensibility blends artistic vision with the efficient and innovative use of the architectural frame of a space, resulting in fluid, timeless interiors.
From an early age, Stephanie Cook has always demonstrated an unusual talent for art. As a child she was always painting or drawing and rearranging her bedroom. Her parents noticed her enthusiasm for the arts and enrolled her in art school, where she was able to put her energy and creativity to work. Throughout those early years, Stephanie greatly enhanced her artistic skills, especially in the areas of painting, drawing and composition. As such, her first award for artistry was won at the tender age of eight.
In 1995 at the age of fifteen, Cook entered the Miss Southern California pageant and won, but her passion for art and the desire to create things from nothing continued to drive her. While her friends were watching Friends or Will & Grace, Stephanie was rooted to such shows as Surprise by Design and Trading Spaces.
Cook went on to earn her B.A. from CIDA accredited, Interior Designers Institute located in Newport Beach, California. While attending the institute, she received a talent-based scholarship and her work was displayed as some of the most unique in design.
Her career in the field of interior design began in 2004, she was hired to design just one room of a house, but as her work progressed the owner was so impressed that she hired her to redo the entire home. Word-of-mouth grew quickly and her career began to take off, appearing on HGTV's Design Star, teaming up with Make-A-Wish Foundation and starting a home accessory line called Haus Candy.
Besides running her business she believes everyone should have a special place to call home so a regular part of her time is spent doing charity work. Her most recent project is the newly renovated Boys Hope House in Santa Ana.
