It is really just a children’s song...irritates the crud out of me when folks who don't know what they are talking about insist that it is. Just shows that they are easily lead and ignorant.

@jackwarshaw they were a commercial success, yes... you make that sound like a bad thing, it's not. PP&M were about so much more than just seeling thir next record. They were about activisim and doing the right thing as well as being entertainers. They asked questions, sought answers, inspire...

@bohsgerry They were not exactly a 'band.' They wrote a bunch of their own songs. They preformed a lot of songs written by other people. They reworked and retooled a lot of older (some quite obscure) folk tunes. PP&M were a very polished group.
