STELLAKOWALSKYs story begins in 1999, when the four members of the band decide to steal Stellas name, famous in A Streetcar Named Desire, and use it as a band logo and name. This is just the last step taken by the band since their beginning in 1991, when Alex Malgioglio came to Italy from Detroit where is he had lived since he was a little kid. In the States Alex had started to make music an essential part of his life, playing in local bands: same thing he obviously wanted to do when back to Italy, moving to Milan. After trying out different Italian bands Alex joins in with Fabrizio Caligiuri, Damiano Raimondi and his brother Francesco and starts up a band called Flame, playing clubs all over Italy. Initially, pressed by local record labels Alex writes songs in Italian but indeed it was not his real language. After having signed a record contract with an indipendent label, the four of them changed their name in Stellakowalsky and started touring around Italy, supporting artists like the swedish The Ark. After the tour Alex starts writing songs in English again and soon enough along with his mates a new demo is finished. Against common sense in making english music in Italy, Fabrizio Simoncioni, absolutely one of Italys leading engineers and producers, decides to take his chances into producing the band. Stellakowalsky signed up a deal with Alari Park Group, a new indipendent label based around one of Italys top recording facilities, Alari Park Recording.
