StartMeUp (SMU) Ryerson is a program run by Students In Free Enterprise (SIFE) Ryerson -- designed to provide entrepreneurs with the education, resources and funding to start and expand their businesses. No matter what the idea, be it product or service, for profit or non-profit, we are here to help. Our program utilizes a customizable 4 stage process that enables participants to turn their ideas into reality.

The four stage process begins with a Program Orientation where participants are introduced to the program and get started on developing their idea.

The next stage is Idea Consultation, which gives participants the opportunity to pitch their idea to a panel of experts who provide advice, tips and recommendations to point the them in the right direction.

In the Resources stage participants are connected with the education and resources they need to start and expand their businesses.

The final stage is Funding, which through various sources such as business plan competitions, the Ryerson Angel Network, venture capital, government grants and loans, participants receive the necessary funds to launch and grow their ventures.

Through the StartMeUp program, entrepreneurs are able to get the support they need, whatever stage they are in, to turn their ideas into reality.
